Privacy, in plain language

Your dossier belongs to you. It is encrypted in your browser and is not uploaded to us.

What stays on your device

Record locators, contacts, instructions, review history, and profile details are encrypted using Web Crypto before being stored in IndexedDB on your device. Your passphrase is held only in memory while the dossier is unlocked. It is not stored or transmitted. We cannot decrypt or recover your dossier.

What we collect

This version has no analytics, advertising, accounts, cookies, or telemetry. The static hosting provider may retain ordinary server access logs such as IP address, URL, and browser information for security and reliability.

Licensing

If you buy or restore Dossier Plus, checkout is hosted by Sociobot / Dodo, the merchant of record. This app stores the returned license token and a daily verification result in localStorage. It sends that token to api.sociobot.in for verification at most once per day. Payment details never pass through this app. See the merchant’s checkout privacy notice for its processing.

Exports and deletion

Encrypted JSON backups remain protected by the passphrase used when exported. CSV exports and printed pages are readable, so you control their physical and digital security. Settings → Delete this dossier removes the encrypted local copy. Clearing browser site data also removes it and the locally stored license token.

Offline cache

The service worker stores the application shell and illustration so the app opens without a connection. It does not place your dossier records in the cache.
